LUXURY SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION FOR UP TO 6 PEOPLE AT THE HEART OF THE YORKSHIRE COAST

Carol's Chalet is located on the East Coast of Yorkshire, England, in South Shore Holiday Village. This is an ideal location for a relaxing short-stay, or a full on 2 week family holiday. Ideal for daily visits to the beach with the kids, walking the dog, or getting out and about to one of the many nearby attractions. Or maybe just sitting out on the decked area with a good book and a glass of wine.

Miles of dog-friendly golden sands

The golden beach appears to go on forever, and is cleaned daily in the Summer Months.

Bridlington

The Land-Train and buses runs regularly from April each year. Or its an easy 30 minute walk.

Nearby resorts

Whitby (42 miles) Scarborough (20 miles) are easy drives away, also Hornsea, Staithes, Robin Hood's Bay.

Days out with the kids

There is a Yachting Club nearby, also a Golf Course. For kids there is a Play-Gym at the John Bull Rock Shop.

Your accommodation is located at the heart of the East Yorkshire Coast at South Shore Holiday Village, an established holiday site at Wilsthorpe, between Fraisthorpe and Bridlington.

Nearby there are several amenities which include a Mini Market/ seaside shop (for inflatables, buckets and spades etc), a Fish and Chip Shop, an Amusement Arcade. The beach frontage area is currently being re-developed following the takeover by Tingdene. New residential chalets are being built, but there are still many amenities in the park and in easy walking distance.

For the children there is a play park, and an outdoor gym for adults.

The Village is adjacent to the park and ride, if you purchase a Car Park ticket in the Park and Ride this entitles you to a family ticket for a bus or the Land Train into Bridlington.

Its a short walk from your chalet to the golden sandy beach, dogs are allowed on this section of beach all year round. In the summer months the beach is cleaned daily.

Right next to the holiday village is the South Cliff Caravan Park, visitors to the village are welcome to use their facilities which include a childrens playground, takeaways, a laundrette, and importantly Makis Leisure Complex for family fun and entertainment. In the Summer there is childrens entertainment every evening, for adults there is a reasonably priced bar, there is also a restaurant doing excellent Sunday lunches and food throughout the week.

Further afield there is the John Bull World of Rock which also includes a children's play gym, ideal for inclement weather. Food is also available.

Round and about and in easy driving distance are the Villages of Bridlington, Beverley, Driffield, Filey, Flamborough, Hull, Scarborough, Skipsea, Whitby,

Bridlington Town Centre is alive with shops, pubs and amusement arcades. A good place to start and find out What's on is the Tourist Information website.
Bridlington Spa has a program of shows for everyone, and the new East Riding Leisure Centre has a gym, Climbing wall and Swimming Pool.

For Fish and Chips you cant go wrong with a visit to Busy Bees (watch out for the Seagulls if you get take-away, they will nick your chips!). Vanilla is an excellent Ice Cream Parlour, also serving snacks.

The rides at the Bayside Fun Fair are probably best visited BEFORE you eat! For a more relaxing ride try Carville's Donkeys on the beach (Tyson is my favourite!)

There is a Cinema, ten-pin bowling and Montyzoomers (possibly permanently closed after Covid) play-gym near the arcades.
